Rietvlei Nature Reserve

An inland wetland boasting more than 112 bird species, including many rare and endangered species. For the bird watcher there are a number of excellent bird hides.

Whale watching

Whales are mostly seen in spring, with the Southern Right Whale being the most commonly spotted. Call the MTN Whale Route info centre on 083 910 1028 for up to date information.

The South African National Council for the Conservation of Sea Birds. The council is dedicated to the rehabilitation of injured and oil stained sea birds.

Janssen's Town Hall

Amongst the eldest buildings in Milnerton. The hall was originally built as a tea bungalow and was later used as a casino. The hall served as the refreshment stop for the horse fraternity on an outing to the races at Ascot Turf Club, in days gone by - it was located at the end of the railway line from Cape Town. Janssen's Town Hall is still in use today for functions.
